I was recently prompted to explain why I’m so involved in all things organic. Suddenly a video montage of life-changing events exploded in my brain until…how exhausting. I am a parent and a spouse and of course I want the best for my family. Without getting all emotional, a documentary called Food Inc. was the beginning of my personal organic revolution because it spotlighted all of the worst issues in American food production. It disallowed me to ignore the truth about pesticides, antibiotics, GMO’s, and other food poisons.
Like a kindergartener who had just learned to read, I absorbed myself in information about organic farming, aquaponics, homesteading, living off the grid, and clean eating. We stopped going to Wal-mart, beefed up our garden, and bought food from local farms. Our priorities shifted and refocused on the origin of our food.
